I wrote my thesis about colour and theorie. The field of colour research is so interesting to me because both artist and scientists have contributed to it. When discussing colour we should not only consider the biological and physical aspects of colour, for a large part colour is about feelings. Everyone has their own associations and psychological reactions to a colour. Where Newton focussed mainly on measuring the different colours of the rainbow, the poet Goethe described the psychological and a much more personal view of colour. It's this entanglement between the scientific and the intuitive that forms the central theme in the book.
